SUMMER HOLIDAY ACTIVITIES: its non-stop summer fun activities in nursery, for our ‘all year round’ children. We are already into summer holiday mode, so we’re making the most of the summer weather, enjoying safe outdoor play, as much as possible. The team will be as always working very hard to recreate a theme each week, so our children can immerse themselves in play, during this holiday time. All 3 rooms are having a theme per week; please see the notice board outside your child’s care room for each week theme. The themes are - ‘Space week and science week’ – a rocket ship created for the children to travel in space, visiting the planets! They will also be doing experiments - Lots of mixing and measuring, making silly aliens and much more! ‘Dinosaur week’ this is a good one, we go back in time to create dinosaur world in nursery – there will be fossil hunting, our children will be explorers by tracking down dinosaurs following their giant feet scattered on the floor, lots of crafts activities such as making dinosaur eggs. ‘ABC Food and Drink festival’ is lots of stalls set up around the room but the best is making and eating different types of food for the week! Very yummy indeed! Ahoy matey! - ‘Pirate week’, the room will be created into a pirate ship with costumes and walk the plank with water play! Not one to miss. ‘Story / Fairy tale week’ lots of puppet making and shows, fairy tale theme crafts, fancy dress and much more! This leads onto ‘Superhero theme!’ where our room will transform into the superhero headquarters - we will be celebrating courage, kindness and creativity! Not forgetting ‘Sensory week and Party time!’, Lots’ of fun activities based around messy play ranging from colourful foam to squishy jelly, dance and movement to pop song, fancy dress and so much more- why not join in at with these weekly themes at home!
GOODBYE & GOOD LUCK:- To our Foundation children leaving us this month, to start full-time school in September; Freya, Greyson, Harrison, Mila, Tommy, Oliver, Hazel, Jana, Eli and Alyan. Thank you for helping make our nursery such a fun place, we’ll miss you all very much and hope your time with ABC has prepared you well for school. Don’t forget to visit or send photos in your new uniforms!! We also say a goodbye to our staff member, Brooke who leaves us at the beginning of August to join a new nursery in walking distance from her home! We will miss you very much!
HELLO & WELCOME:- To George who starts with us in our Under-two’s room. We welcome our new staff member Eve who joins us in our Pre-school room.
DATES FOR YOUR DIARY:-Please note, nursery will be closed on Monday, 31st August for the Bank Holiday, have a lovely long weekend!
COLLECTION TIMES:-To help us ensure a smooth handover and maintain our staff-to-child ratios, we kindly ask that you arrive at least 5 minutes before your child’s session ends. If their session ends at 1:00 pm. Please arrive by 12:55 pm at the latest. This allows time for handover before the next group arrives at 1pm. If your session ends at 4.00pm or 6:00 pm: Please arrive before the end session so we can close promptly. We understand delays can happen, but repeated late collections may result in late charges. Our team also has other commitments and families to get home to, and we appreciate your support in respecting these times. Thank you for helping us keep things running smoothly for all our children and staff.
AUTUMN TERM FUNDING:- Starts on Tuesday,1st September, when the 14 weeks of Nursery Education Funding for eligible 9 months, 2-year old’s and all 3- & 4-year old’s.
30 HOURS FUNDING: - If you haven’t checked your eligibility yet for this new funding for September’s entitlement, DON’T DELAY! To qualify for the new term in September, you need to apply and be issued with your personal code by 31st August, for this Autumn’s funding. Otherwise, it will be January before you can use it. Go to the government website; childcarechoices.gov.uk for further information. Please refer to our Terms & Conditions for 30 hours funding. This website also has information on 2, 3 & 4-year-old funding, tax-free childcare etc.
